As a child growing up in Cornwall, Mandi Baykaa-Murray was surrounded by animals and wildlife - which she now paints. Recently, after meeting a falconer and his birds of prey, Mandi was compelled to paint. Volunteering with the birds hugely inspired Mandi’s artwork, in particular, the use of feathers both as subject and medium. Her painting ‘Feathered Friend’ was selected as a finalist in the ‘David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of The Year 2014’ and Mandi exhibits regularly, locally and nationally. This year she won The St Cuthbert’s Mill Award for The Best Work on Paper at The Wildlife Art Society International.
