Caroline works in a 19th century Sail Loft on Topsham Quay with boats and buoys outside her door. She aims to capture the changing patterns of the boats' movement in her work. Caroline uses ink and pastels to create a cracked surface over vintage maps or navigation charts and reclaimed painted frames which reminds her of the boats’ sea-weathered hulls. Caroline exhibits her work in Devon and the Scilly Isles. She was recently featured in ‘Coast’ magazine. Her art feels like 'swatches' or sections of a larger pattern of boats-hence she has named her works "wallpaper boats".
