Lisa Purchase’s lively sculptural work usually represents the animal form created from clay and paper or plaster. Her love of paint and ink, pastels and pencil provide colour and intrigue to each piece, built up over several layers. The animals are inspired by children’s stories and illustrations, folk art and human emotions. Lisa currently runs art workshops for both children and adults with learning difficulties, while practicing as a trainee counsellor, working towards her MBACP. Lisa has a fine art degree from Norwich and later studied MA (Fine Art in Context) at the University of West England.
