The countryside inspires Mark Corfield in his making of vibrant, abstract landscapes. He splits his time between his love of creating art and farming. His work has been exhibited in galleries across the Southwest, Bristol and London. His current innovative practice is pushing the boundaries of watercolours to uncharted areas. Using synthetic plastic paper, he allows the water and pigment, unhampered, to reveal their own properties and behaviour, exploring the natural characteristics of watercolours and its affinity to the landscape. His paintings only start to reveal their true mysteries when given more than a passing glance.
