Kirsten Elswood was born in Clifton in 1967. She studied Fine Art in Exeter and is currently undertaking a year’s course at Newlyn School of Art in Cornwall. She is constantly inspired to paint the land and sea. She works in a variety of media and often mixes media to try and capture a certain weather feature or texture. She prefers to leave a piece of work that she has started and return to it days and sometimes weeks later, relying on memory of the place to bring some ambiguity to a painting.
